What's your favorite twitter widget/tool? I just heard about Snitter this morning and am familiar with Twhirl, but I'm still using the web/mobile device to update.

Twhirl is my twitter tool of choice lately. AIR is incredibly well done and installation is a breeze. I'm constantly switching between Mac OS/X and Ubuntu, the ability to have the same interface on both machines is cool -- Especially because its a good one :)

While still in beta, I think twittervision local is wicked slick.

Tune into Florida and just sit back and get mesmerized by all the local tweets. I think this would be cool to have on the doterati site.

I currently use Twitterific, if you don't mind ads every hour it's a good service. I also use Twinkle on my iPhone.

I like Twittervision local as well. As a data junkie, gotta give props to homegrown Twitterholic and its ilk.

anybody come across an open Twitter user DB? Seems like wasted effort by each app creating/storing that analytic-like info (especially with query limits). Anybody wanna collab or know if such an open DB is against Twitter API guidelines?

While not technically a twitter only tool, I like BlogIt since I can use it to update twitter, pownce and my facebook status simultaneously.

I feel like I "graduated" from the Twitter Website interface (missed bunches of Tweets!) to TWHIRL and then on to FriendFeed... all in about three days. However, so far it appears that reciprocity.. I-friend-you-you-friend-me.. doesn't work on FriendFeed as it does on native Twitter or through TWHIRL. It's much harder to build "fans and friends" through FriendFeed.

Overall, it's like I'm feeling my way around a room in the dark. And, the room morphs every day. But, it's fun.

Later --- Blame it on Mark K. Saw the link he posted and got on TwitterVision for Florida. I had to make a concentrated effort to move the mouse to click on the Red X. I don't know if I'm impressed or horrified.

Hi Tara! Not sure if it'll work for you, but I've come to love Twitterfox . . as you might surmise, it's browser based and only compatible with Firefox.

I actually like Twixxer. It allows you to embed video & images into your tweets, although it's only applicable in Firefox...and I think only users who have it downloaded can see your updates.

I just started using TweetDeck. It's build in AIR and currently in beta. The app allows you to break information into separate columns: tweets, replies, etc. and see all updates without having to refresh.
